Soyo

Housed in a former Methodist church, and (thankfully) since nicely spruced up, Soyo is stylish and playful. Sandwiched between the busy Division Street and West Street strips, there’s regular entertainment, from live bands to glamorous DJ nights – playing everything from Foo Fighters and Nirvana, to Timberlake and Beyonce, by way of fresh house, funk, old school R’n’B and even a spot of New Jack Swing. Fine cocktails too.

The Wick at Both Ends

The West Street establishment is always pretty busy thanks to a good food and booze selection. Cocktails include titles such as Handsome Boy Modelling School (based on an outstanding El Dorado 12 Year Old Rum) and Thyme After Thyme (fresh sprigs of thyme, gin, apricot liqueur, egg white and a squeeze of lemon), while the beer list features some rarely seen Belgium and German bottled beers and tidy Trappist brews. The cuisine is Modern British, with all ingredients locally sourced.
